Alyssa Thorne is an interdisciplinary artist & writer specializing in transportive, fantasy still-life photography with botanicals, antiques, and handmade elements. Her photographs juxtapose stunning visual elements and symbolism with heartfelt storytelling. Photographer and artist first, but always a writer at the core, nearly every piece contains a story or personal memory with varied and intimate meanings. Alyssa is well known for the narrative qualities of her work, and these stories accompany every piece as an artful and vivid artist statement. Each piece is planned and constructed similarly to sculpture, with lush compositions always full of secrets to discover. Every photograph is a liminal doorway, an open portal to a different world inside painterly chiaroscuro. Alyssa is a lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest, with the exception of a brief departure to the east coast, where she attended The School of the Museum of Fine Art, Boston, and Massachusetts College of Art & Design. She has had five exhibitions with an upcoming solo show in October 2023, and published a sold-out photobook, entitled \"Autumn Eternal.\" In addition, several local and international publications, podcasts, and blogs have featured her work.
