Darren J Bennett has forged a reputation as one of Australia's Finest Landscape Photographers with many awards and exhibitions to his name. His work has also appeared in Photographic magazines and calendars around the world. Darren J Bennett is a "Master Photographer" with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography.
One of the immediate attributes noticed in Darren's work is colour - rich, deep, vibrant colour. Other images are evocative (particularly his Black and White images), engaging symbols of age and decay, invoking thoughts of isolation and lonesomeness which somewhat represent the life of a landscape photographer, alone with the land.
The land and sea provide Darren with elements of light, colour, form and subject matter which really reflect the kind of images he loves. In his own words Darren quotes: 'I try to view the ordinary in an extra-ordinary way, using different angles and available light at the right time of day to highlight the essence of a particular view; a perspective that might be easily missed by the casual observer'.
