I’m a street photography addict. No pills or powders for me, just the raw, unfiltered rush of capturing the madness of the world around me. Since 2016, I’ve been pounding the urban streets, logging miles on foot like a desperate man chasing the fleeting moments that slip through the cracks of everyday life. My years as a street mime taught me how to anticipate people’s every move, to read the undercurrent of human behavior. My photos tend to be spontaneous moments, mainly captured in the urban environments of California. These moments are often quirky, humorous, and offbeat. Split second stories that are easily overlooked.
I hunt for moments without preconceived notions or project plans. Instincts and subconsciousness are my guide. I try not to worry about how people will judge my work or how many good photos I get when I shoot. There are several shooting days when I don’t even get a good photo. That’s fine with me as long as I learned, had fun, and exercised.
But why do I shoot? Because everywhere I look, I see people lost in their phones, drowning in their own bubble, completely unaware of the absurdity unfolding right in front of them. My photos? They’re a wake-up call. A reminder to look up, to really look, to observe the mess we’re all part of before it vanishes like yesterday’s hangover.
I’ve racked up some wins in the world of street photography competitions, had my work published in magazines and books, and you can find more about that on my website, in the Awards and Publications sections.
