Fabi Fregonesi is an underwater photographer with a passion for telling the stories that inhabit the silence of the deep sea. Holding degrees in Marketing and Business Administration, she spent two decades in the corporate world, with the last 12 years as a sales team leader for major companies.
A diver since 2009 and an underwater photographer since 2012, she began capturing the submerged world as a hobby. In 2024, she decided to leave the corporate environment to dedicate herself full-time to photography. Since then, she has gained national and international recognition for her distinctive work that blends technical skill, sensitivity, and purpose.
A passionate advocate for sharks and marine life, Fabi believes in the power of images as a tool for transformation. She uses photography as an instrument for awareness and conservation, aiming to break stigmas and promote respect for these often-misunderstood animals, while also raising awareness about the importance of ocean preservation.
In just two years of dedicated photography, she was awarded in more than 30 national and international awards. Among her highlights is her achievement at the Underwater Photographer of the Year (UPY), currently the world's most important and competitive underwater photography contest. Fabi was the first Brazilian, and the first Brazilian woman, to be on the podium in the contest's history, securing a third-place finish in the Wrecks category.
She was also named the third-best wildlife photographer in the world by One Eyeland, won the Nature category at the BrasÃlia Photo Show, and secured several first-place wins at the 35 Awards contests.
Her images have been featured in major media outlets worldwide, reinforcing her commitment to art, nature, and the urgency of its preservation.
