"The boundary line between Cameroon and Nigeria is the result of an Anglo-German treaty signed in 1913.
In the far north of Cameroon along the border of Nigeria, live several thousands of unregistered people.
Not possessing papers, they "do not exist".
They have no rights, nor freedom or safety in their own country.
Here, one must essentially cultivate white beans.
Each family will harvest approximately 40 bags per year.
I asked Fatou how much she made per year. She said "I cannot say how much money I make, I only know that I make 40 bags of beans a year"
The stored beans are largely sold at the market, the rest of the stock is kept to feed the family or sometimes to buy the often out-of-date medications, to deal with the numerous diseases that affect the population."
