"The little Black Church at Búðir, on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, on the west coast of Icleand, was another magical place for me to visit on my visit to Iceland last month. The church was built in 1703 by Bent Lárusson, who was a merchant in Búðir. It was left neglected, but was rebuilt by Steinunn Sveinsdóttir in 1848, and legend has it, she did this following a request by Bent Lárusson in a dream. Today this beautiful little church is such a popular spot for photographers, given its utter minimalistic appeal. I really love this image of this stunning little church, with some incredibly moody clouds overhead (and is that an image of God in the cloud above or just a bit of Búðir trickery :-)"
