"This is Mt. Kashimayari in winter of Japan. Until just before shooting, Mt. Kashimayari was surrounded by gas. I was able to photograph the fantastic Mt. Kashimayari floating above the sea of clouds, aiming for the moment when the gas cleared. The rime on the foreground indicates that the season is still winter. Mt. Kashimayari in winter is very difficult, and only a small number of advanced climbers can climb the summit. The following edits have been made to express the severity of this mountain. The first is to reduce the overall saturation. The second is to increase the contrast of the sea of clouds. Third, I applied a high-pass filter to Mt. Goryu."
