"I saw the tree as I was driving back from a visit to Milford Sound; captured by it's striking silhouette against the mountains, I started to photograph it, I then saw the car approaching and decided to do a frame with it in.
Looking at the image now it reminds me of the transitory nature of mankinds existence.
We're here for a brief instant, constantly on the move, recorded as a flash of light, the mountains are here for millions of years, even the tree will probably be alive longer than the average human."
