"Project "ice night"
It's the season when trees, and even waterfalls freeze.
This night felt warm, but it was 16 degrees below zero.
The moon and stars shone in the sky and the ice shone beautifully in the night.
In the slumbering silence, all you can hear is the ice-climber breathing and the ice breaking.
I photographed Ice Night, the beautiful world of ice, on the theme of stillness and motion.
Two Profoto B2 (off-camera flash umbrella, on-camera flash)
To take beautiful shots of the breaking ice and ice wall, I used B2 as the backlight from the bottom, and attached the other to the harness and took shots on-camera while climbing.
Though the system is very light compared to the old days, it was still difficult getting to the ice climbing point and taking photos while climbing in one operation.
It felt warm, but the temperature was 16 degrees below zero and drained the B2 battery quickly, but thanks to my friend climber's help, I was able to shoot beautiful and powerful moments."
