Gene is an international award-winning artist, recently included in One Eyeland’s 100 Top Photographers In The World. He has also been rated the #1 travel photographer and the #2 landscape photographer in the USA. His work has been exhibited in international art fairs and in galleries in London. Gene has traveled extensively in Europe, Iceland, and The Great American West, now shooting almost exclusively with a Phase One XT medium-format technical camera. His latest works are informed by the paintings of Edward Hopper. Gene considers himself primarily a storyteller, using the subtle interplay of shadow, pattern, and detail to create a sense of mystery, perhaps even foreboding. From time to time, he teaches an 8-week course, “The Photographer’s Eye,” on how to see and think creatively. Gene’s limited-edition large-format prints may be viewed at www.GeneSellers.com. Gene and his wife live in the rugged Central Texas Hill Country with their two Labrador Retrievers, whom he often refers to as “The Unruly Beasts.”
