Heidi Margocsy of In Her Image Photography is an Australian born and proud Queer-identifying photographer currently based in Northern California. Her focus is Branding, Fine Art Creative, Commercial and Editorial work. Heidi’s imagery is centered on empowering images which she creates for entrepreneurs, the LGBTQI+ community, thought leaders, artists and entertainers worldwide. Her images have been published and exhibited extensively in Australia, U.S, Europe, Asia and the U.K. She has won numerous international portrait awards and was honored to be a Finalist in the esteemed National Photographic Portrait Prize 2023 by the National Portrait Gallery of Australia. In 2024 she was named International Portrait Photographer of the Year by the Australian Photographic Prize and recently won 1st Place in the Individual Portrait Category at the WPPI Icon Awards. Artist Statement: I consider myself an intuitive portrait photographer and storyteller. Drawing from my background in theatre and directing, I bring a uniquely guided portrait experience to each of my subjects, resulting in imagery that reveals depth and emotion. My approach is always to be in full collaboration with my subjects, to create imagery together that speaks to their unique story and human experience. I strive daily to create images that elevate and celebrate the extraordinary in the humans in front of my lenses. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to see their own narrative reflected to them with emotive and empowering portraiture.
