Originally from South Africa, I married a welsh girl and I\'m now settled in rural north Wales. In 2001 I completed a John Moores BA (Hons) in Fine Art. I work from my studio in Wales creating paintings, ceramics, prints and three dimensional work, drawn from life and from imagination. My work is in private collections across the world including Australia, Turkey, Bermuda and America. A huge influence on my artwork is my life long passion for conservation. I am an ambassador for a fantastic charity; Ape Action Africa based in Cameroon and am the chairman of Orangutan Appeal UK who support conservation projects in Sabah, Borneo. This conservation work and more generally my love of travel has inspired me to take up photography in recent years. Some of my non photographic artwork can be quite challenging and hard hitting but I like to make an impact to raise awareness of issues close to my heart. My photography is all about nature, with a lot of it centred on the eyes of the animal. They look into your soul and speak to you. Although I don\'t make living full time from my photography, any shots I do sell, a percentage of the sales goes to conservation charities to help them continue their good work. My feeling is, if we all stand together we can make a difference.
