ABOUT THE ARTIST: I am a wildlife and travel photographer with a fascination for the diversity of the natural world and human culture on this planet. My hope is that my images encourage viewers to slow down, observe closely, and connect to our amazing surroundings. With a degree in biology, much of my work focuses on wildlife from around the world. It is a challenging genre as the photographer has little control over the subject and the environment. Using light, composition, and a lot of patience, I try to create wildlife images that generate real appreciation and respect for the subject. I believe this kind of photography has the power to promote a greater commitment to protecting and conserving our natural resources. An avid traveler, I also look for photographic opportunities anywhere I travel. Human culture, like nature, offers endless fascination and I enjoy capturing the character and stories found in places around the world. The more people you meet, the more our shared humanity is apparent. As Mark Twain wrote, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness”. My work has been recognized in multiple international contests such as Nature’s Best, National Wildlife Federation, Share the View, Journal of Wildlife Photography, Exposure One, and others.
