Jessica Goodnow is an internationally award - winning fine art child and family photographer based in Fairmont, West Virginia. She is 29 years old and a mother to three beautiful children who are her endless inspiration. She began her career in 2014, and has been shooting newborns and their families for the last 7 years.
Jessica focuses on capturing authentic, storytelling, emotive imagery. “ When you look at my images I want you to truly be able to feel every aspect of that photo. Whether that be the abundant love between a mother and child, or the wonderment all over a child's face as they take in the world around them. I want you to feel those raw emotions and to be able to relive that moment all over again.”
Her journey with photography started shortly after her son was born. He was diagnosed with Spina Bifida in utero during her pregnancy, and they faced many serious health complications immediately after his birth. “ This challenging time in my life became the foundation of my photography career. My world felt like it was ending watching him endure everything he went through. I was a young, first time mother, and I was terrified. However, his strength and resiliency set my soul on fire. I didn’t want him to ever forget how amazing he is, so I purchased a camera and learned photography. He is true perfection in my eyes and I wanted to make sure he could look back and see himself as beautifully as I see him every single day.”
Recently, she has been published in “The International Portrait Photographer of the Year” awards book, “Kid Model Magazine”, “Shutter Up Magazine”, and “Gallery of Refined Art”.
