My name is Marco Equitani, I live on Lake Bolsena, a small and charming village in Lazio (Italy), even if my real dream - interrupted by Covid pandemic - is going to live in Tromsø (Norway), at least during the winter.
I studied in Rome where I graduated in Aerospace Engineering, but the passion for photography and nature led me to take a different path in life.
I have always loved photography, but it is after maturity that this has imposed itself strongly as a fundamental part of my life.
Always passionate about extreme weather, in 2014 - together with a dear friend - I founded the Horizon Stormchaser Team, a group of five guys who love photography and meteorology, who go every year - after a long preparation - to chase storms and tornadoes in the boundless prairies of the midwest of the United States, also driven by the great love for the West.
Passionate about cold climates and expert in Aurora Borealis given the weather skills accumulated over the years, I go several times a year - even alone - to Norway, Iceland, Faroe Islands and Lapland to chase the Northern Lights and enjoy their beauty.
A pure landscape photographer always in search of the widest lens on the market, I occasionally delight in portraits of wildlife and macro, but in the last four years part of my attention has been focused on the creation of motion timelapses.
My secret dream? An expedition to Antarctica as soon as possible.
