Pepe Manzanilla is a wildlife and conservation photographer based in Costa Rica. In 2023 he was named one of the World\'s Top 10 Wildlife Photographers by One Eyeland, and in 2024 he received the International Photographer of the Year title at the ReFocus Awards. His work has also been recognized at the Siena Creative Photo Awards. He has contributed photographs to scientific and academic publications, and his work has appeared in books and conservation-focused exhibitions. His photography is grounded in a lifelong connection to the natural world and shaped by years of ocean and cave diving. He is known for his split photography — using underwater domes to capture the threshold where two worlds meet, above and below the waterline — a technique that lends his images a distinctive perspective on nature. A photographic contributor to publications on Costa Rica\'s national parks and Cocos Island, Pepe works closely with conservation organizations and is a member of the NAMA conservation team. For him, photography is a way of advocating for the natural world: a means to reveal its beauty, document its fragility, and inspire its protection. Website: https://pepemanzanilla.com
