Ricardas Jarmalavicius is an internationally acclaimed amateur photographer, famous for his vulnerable black-and-white photos, mostly taken with his iPhone. A good photo is not an image but a mirror, says Ricardas. People see their stories, their feelings, memories, fears, and expectations in this mirror. Ricardas views photography as not a simple capturing of moments as they happen, but as a very vulnerable art, like a secret glance at a stranger\'s diary. Ricardas’ unique point of view at life is shaped by his childhood in an orphanage, prison guard experience in the army in Russian North, rich journalistic and public relations experience, books, and a colorful personal life. He was born in 1966 in Lithuania, but considers himself a citizen of the world. Ricardas has received more than 70 international photography awards. He has also had photos exhibited in France, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and Lithuania.
