My name is Tan Kulali and I am an advertising photographer from Frankfurt, Germany specializing in still life and people photography.
In 2004 I started working as a camera assistant in the film industry. At this time, photography was just a hobby for me, but it became more and more a passion and I was fascinated by the creative possibilities.
So in 2011, after 8 years of assisting, I decided to change my profession from 25 frames per second to 1 frame per second and started to work as a full time photographer.
I think my experience in the film industry also had an impact on my photographic style. With an inventive presentation, a special mood, or an interesting atmosphere, I like staging both people and products in an exciting new way.
High speed photography is a relatively new technique in my portfolio. To capture that specific moment in a millisecond, which normally you can't see with the naked eye, is something I find quite beautiful.
