Why photography? Because it has taken me to the right place.
I cannot imagine a better first contact. The home enlargers that my grandfather used to build when dismantling cameras opened me up to a discipline that I would not investigate until years later.
It was the need to find a job that would offer different experiences every day what made me become a photographer. Between 2003 and 2005 I studied in IVASFOT, the Basque Photography Institute, where my colleague Carlos Hernndez became a key inspiration for my first steps, and where, afterwards, I returned as a teacher and I displayed my first framed series: "Izarra -Factory". Afterwards, I studied graphic design (2008-2009) and took professional development workshops in disciplines such as creative retouching, by Ruth Rovirosa, or staging, with Eugenio Recuenco or Paco Peregrin.
Everything changed when I moved from the Basque Country to Madrid. After a workshop with Jesus Alonso, I decided to work on my portfolio and to send it to him, and one day, such as, on December 24 I received his call. Two days later, I joined his team, an authentic second school where my camera has continued to settle.
This profession offers me constant challenges. And many questions to answer. But, in short, maybe I can only ask one. Why photography? Because, behind the camera, I always sit in the right place.
