I am a Spanish photographer whose biggest passion is taking images of wildlife, especially in Africa. My love for animals and for photography are enough reasons for me to try to obtain original and striking images. The photographers need a lot of patience to get a good image of an animal, as well as perseverance and a large dose of passion.
I was born in 1955 in Barcelona, where I still lives. I understand photography as a way of capturing the beauty of the world, it awakes my curiosity and it show me magical and unique moments.
I have been to Kenya, Tanzania, Namibia, Botswana and Zambia and he returned several times to Kenya, and the Masai Mara. I think that the diversity of wild animals that you can photograph in Africa is not comparable to any other place.
Photographing wildlife is very emotional, every image is unrepeatable and you never know what the result will be.”
I believe that it is very important to carefully study where you want to go, as good preparation is the key to get interesting photos. I choose the places that are likely to provide me with photographic opportunities that I am interested in.
I have been awarded several times. The most important awards in competitions such as the Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Nature Best and Monochrome awards.
My gear is as follow:
Camera: Two Nikon D850
Lenses: Nikkor AF-S 14-24/2.8, NikkorAF 24-70/2.8, Nikkor 70-200/2.8, Nikkor 180-400 / 4E
Tripod: Gitzo
The software that I use is:
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, Nik filters, Noisewar
I think it’s very important to process the RAW image. In Camera Raw I adjust the exposure and the shadows and after that I go to Photoshop where I work on the levels and the dimensions. In some instances I use Nik filters.
Each photo needs a different treatment depending on the final result I am after.
