"For this image I made a series of photos of a wing of the VU academic hospital in Amsterdam at the short time when the sun reaches this side of the building and accentuates all the surface details. The shades of blue, red and pink invited me to create a different abstract composition within the square. It seems to be constantly changing and moving its pace, like a symphony. Windows are concentrating in some places and in other parts the coloured surfaces take over and create moments of rest. At the same time you can see the reality of the details, highlighted by the sun. A person is looking out of the window and there are drawings made by children in the hospital. All of this together creates the visual music that I keep seeing in architecture."
