Robyn Bergmann is a Creative Director at VML Australia, formerly VMLY&R. She has more than 20 years’ experience in the ad industry, starting out as an Art Director in Johannesburg, and working for some of the best agencies in South Africa. Hunt Lascaris TBWA, Leo Burnett and Ogilvy to name but a few. Her work has been recognised at Cannes Lions, One Show, Clios, New York Festivals, London International, D&AD and more. Robyn lives for creativity, craft and collaboration, to make work that moves people and affects positive change in our world. Her film for Topsy, ‘Selinah’ was listed as one of the top ten ads of the decade in 2020 by Little Black Book. ‘Selinah’ told a powerful story of hope in the fight against HIV in Africa.
During her time at VML Australia, the agency has been ranked 6th Australian Agency of the Decade by Cannes Lions and 3rd Australian Agency of the Decade by Campaign Brief. This year the agency was named the most creative agency in Australia and APAC by Campaign Brief The Work, and Global Agency of the year at LIA.
Robyn is passionate about giving back to the industry in her role as Co-Vice President of the MADC - the Melbourne Advertising, Design and Creativity Club. And as a founding member of The Aunties, a support program that protects and champions women, Robyn continues to fight for diversity in the industry she loves so much.
When she’s not making ads, Robyn enjoys hiking or cycling through the Australian countryside with her young family. She’s just not that keen on Australian spiders and snakes.
